Yesterday, I saw a green tree frog in the backyard. Today, I saw some kind of weird lizard near my clematis. I think they're all appearing by our house all of a sudden because exterminators are spraying in the neighborhood... which means we'll probably get some other... evacuees.

frogs & lizards are cool. Spiders are not so cool. Roaches make me flip the fuck out.

Went to pam & jody's for memorial day cookout. Lots of fun, lots of kids, etc. We also rescued the alcohol left over from the wedding... 7 bottles of asti spumante just calling my name in the living room, mmmm. Also brought home pasta salad & cookies. I don't know what it is about cold noodles with italian dressing, but mmm to that, too.

Finally broke out the new toaster oven.

The new coffeemaker is AWESOME so far. mmm coffee. I haven't tried the espresso maker yet, because it kind of scares me, and I don't really have any espresso cups.

Doug & I bought strawberries & croissants yesterday, so I had the best breakfast ever. Though, it would've been EVEN BETTER if we'd thought to buy whipped cream, too.

My cappuccino machine should be coming today, but I only have enough coffee for one cup.

Do I drink it now because I NEED COFFEE or do I hold off until UPS gets here?

Spent most of the weekend looking for mattresses. We were going to get a sleep number because we have such individual sleep habits, but apparently the air bladders can have condensation on the outside when the temperatures in the rooms change, which then molds the beds from the inside out... and with Doug's allergies, that's super bad. So we tested out some temperpedics (really nice, but HOT and way outside of our budget range) and a few pillowtop traditionals. The brand which felt the best to me, Englander, is panned like whoa as having no durability in a bunch of consumer reports, so we're pretty much down to a posturepedic, which is funny, since I was really against traditional mattresses from the beginning.

Have been listening to Wicked non-stop for some reason.

Harry's Farmer's Market is the best ever. So much cheese!

Doug went out to dunkin donuts & got me an egg & cheese and munchkins for breakfast.

He's such a bad influence.

Spent all day yesterday @ tom & jen's building their deck. jen & I got a lot of stuff done (the boys less so) and in the end we ended up watching the fight on HBO. Al was there too, which was fun, and sort of funny because this is the first time (besides the pre-wedding stuff) we've seen him in months... and the reason why is likely because his wife finally left him.

I'm so glad his wife left him, because now he can come out & play!

It sounds terrible, but his wife is crazy. Like, straight up crazy. She doesn't like any of Al's friends. She thinks Jen's mean, she doesn't relate to Nancy or any of the guys, and is extremely jealous of Jen's twin sister Kristen. In fact, the only one of Al's friends or whatever she doesn't think is 'mean' is me, which is hilarious.

We were going to have a birthday party for Al at our house in a couple weeks, but thought it would be a better idea to have it @ tom & jen's house so that she doesn't come. But I'm probably going to make food & bring it over anyway. mmm.

spent yesterday super hung over, but had a wonderful time friday so whatever. Am still minorly hung over today... my tummy still hurts.

Did a lot of errands today... got pulls for our ceiling fans, new toilet seats & a trellis to let my clematis climb. I'm very excited about my new guest bathroom toilet seat. We got a wooden one, and it looks really nice, much nicer than the nondescript old white one. And this is how you know how boring my life is right now. Hooray toilet seats!

Making baked ziti for dinner tonight, mmm.

Cleaning bedroom today so we can go buy our new bed, which is mostly a lot of doing laundry. Probably vaccuuming as well. Bleh.

So, what happened to me since... whenever?

I got married last week, which was mostly fun. Doug's brother and his friend Al's wife were being incorrigible as usual, so we had to leave some people off our guest list or risk havoc. The site was awesome, the food was awesome (although the caterers were a bit weird), and the company was also excellent.

I got horribly sunburned day 2 of our honeymoon in Daytona Beach... day 1 we arrived, had dinner, and got pails & stuff to build a sandcastle (and it was a KICKASS sandcastle). Spent the rest of the time inside watching tv.

Am very entertained by new HBO series Big Love.

Got a bag of oranges from a random gas station on the way home from the honeymoon... they're little, but taste yummy but have HUGE seeds.

Will be getting a Sleep Number Bed. yay!
